My Story
I spent my first thirty years growing up in Tasmania, blessed with opportunities to explore its whitewater and wilderness alongside people who are now my oldest friends. I also pursued my sporting ambitions, winning national titles and representing Australia in slalom canoeing at four World Championships.
My second thirty years were very different; living in London with my wife Sheena, raising four daughters, and building a career as a sport psychologist and executive coach. Working with Olympic athletes, business leaders and their organisations taught me a great deal about what enables people to perform with integrity and purpose, and what gets in the way.
Now in my third third of life, I focus on work that matters. I supervise executive coaches, develop leaders who want to serve as genuine custodians for people and planet, support senior leaders navigating complexity and purpose, and make space for the big questions of meaning and faith that rarely find room in everyday conversation. I also continue to work in paddlesport — coaching, competing as a veteran, and developing the next generation of coaches.
Across all of this, the thread is the same: helping people go deeper, stay true to what matters, and lead lives and practices they can be proud of.
I am an Accredited Master Executive and Team Coach (APECS) and trained as a coach supervisor at Oxford Brookes University. I hold a PhD in sport science (psychology), and I am an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist.
